Why do repeating tasks only appear in the To-do list but not in the Upcoming list?

When a task is scheduled to repeat and it's either due today or overdue, it'll only show up in the To-do list. Once it's completed it'll drop down into the Upcoming list. The reason it's designed this way is because each task has a single unified task card that only appears at one spot in the app, which is when that task is next due to be completed.
